New patients
We welcome new patients who live within our practice areas. As it often takes some time for records to be forwarded from your former practice all newly registered patients will be asked to complete a health questionnaire and are offered a consultation with the pharmacist or doctor. There is a health questionnaire 18+ and Children under 18 to complete along with a GMS1 form.
Medical treatment is available from the point at which we receive your medical records and one of our team has registered you onto our systems. We are experiencing a huge influx of patients and therefore this is a backlog with our registrations. You will need to continue obtaining medical treatment from your current GP surgery until you are fully registered with Dunster and Porlock surgeries.
See if you're in our catchment area
As our practice is growing steadily in numbers we are unfortunately having to be very strict with our practice boundary. If an existing patient resides outside of our boundary area and then moves away but then returns to an address outside of our boundary even if this is the household that they were previously registered at (regardless if other family members are registered) then unfortunately we will be no longer be able to re register you and you will be directed to an alternative practice.
Temporary Patients
If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.
You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.
To register as a temporary patient simply contact the practice and complete the form below. You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
